Summer Specials

Well the sun has come out and we've been busy creating exciting specials!

We'll always have an interesting Fish special on a Friday!

We're also making daily sandwiches to order, using beautiful Artisan breads for anyone popping in for a lighter bite!

You'll be seeing some chilled soups like Gazpacho, Salmojero and Vichyssoise to cool you down!

Now on the can find our super tasty 'Smokey' Veggie Burger! Made using loads of fresh vegetables and pulses it is actually completely Vegan and we've made our own Vegan burger buns too! Come in and try them!

The Spring Menu

Since I wrote my last blog, the team and I have been busy creating the new Spring Menu.

Being in Brighton and Hove there are, like myself, lots of Vegetarians and Vegans so I have added some amazing new options for them! You'll see a vegan Thai Red Curry and a Beansprout Salad that were a staple for me whilst travelling! We have also kept the amazing Brighton Sausage Co. Veggie Burger and Veggie Sausage and Mash.

Its not all about the vegetables though, you'll see plenty of chicken and beef on there too, which is all from local Sussex farms, and i've sourced some Northern Spanish chorizo thats being served with my Family recipe Patatas Bravas!

With the warmer weather (hopefully) coming, i've designed some lighter mains like the Pan Roasted Salmon and the Tarragon Chicken! I've sourced an excellent new seafood supplier and you'll be sure to see some delicious local fish and shell fish specials every week!

I'm also keen to get out of the kitchen and forage some wild mushrooms that we'll be doing some interesting things with!

I know how much you love our Sunday Roasts so i've kept everything pretty much the same, except that our Vegetarian Pies and Nut Roasts are now Vegan!

Tuesday 9th May is the official launch date, come in and enjoy one of our new dishes!

Meet the Chef

After taking a trip to South East Asia, I've returned to The Better Half as Head Chef.

I'm looking forward to introducing my Springtime menu at the beginning of April, which will include vegan and vegetarian options as well as beautiful local poultry, fish and meat.

Spring is a great time of year to show off great British produce, we've had some excellent wild garlic recently and I'm currently on the hunt for some amazing wild mushrooms!

I recently spent two months working in Ithaca, Greece, where I learnt to cook local traditional food, so as well as British dishes, you'll notice some Mediterranean influences on there too!

I'm used to working with strict dietary requirements, so if you have any requests, please don't hesitate to ask when you come in.
